Smith shared in a 106 run partnership for the first wicket with Rob Key,whilst Ealham`s late assault saw 100 runs being scored from the final 10 overs.Needing to score at almost 7 an over, Glamorgan made a poor start, losing Jimmy Maher inthe second over, as he was yorked by Mohammad Sami for 4. The Pakistani picked up twomore wickets as Glamorgan slumped to 55-4 in the 12th over, before Adrian Dale andMatthew Maynard shared a stand of 108 in 17 overs to give Glamorgan a glimmer of hope.But after scoring 72 Maynard was stumped as he advanced down the wicket to Rob Ferley,Kent`s young left-arm spinner.Mike Kasprowicz and David Harrison added a few lusty blows towards the end of the innings, but whenDean Cosker was stumped in the 42nd over, Kent had won a game that had seen 530 runsbeing scored at one of the most picturesque grounds in Southern England.
